Most families (yes, I’m generalizing, but bear with me) are doing okay. Some are really doing well, some aren’t. Most are in the middle somewhere.
But they aren’t exactly thriving. They’re only a paycheck or two from disaster.
And is where the Cookie Jar Money Philosophy comes in.
Most families don’t need a way to replace a full-time income. Most families simply need a few hundred extra dollars a month that they can tuck away. Some families really don’t even need that much. One or $200 a month would be fantastic.
Some families can have that simply by cutting corners and putting money aside that they save. But other families need a way to make extra money.
And that’s where I come in.
I like helping moms figure out how to make extra money by working at home. I also like doing it in a way that is very inexpensive for them. I don’t believe moms need to invest hundreds of dollars in some kind of a kit so that they can start making money. I don’t think that businesses that do that are bad, necessarily. I know that I have purchased kits before – such as for a candle company, cosmetics, etc. – and I made money with them.
But for most families that need extra money, they don’t need to be putting money out before they start making money – not on that scale anyway.
The vast majority of business models that I promote require little or no money to start. That is a personal choice. I believe that if a family has a way of making extra money that doesn’t require a whole lot of money to start, they can always invest more money once they have some income coming in. They can always reinvest their profits in order to scale up their business.
Imagine if you had a way to bring in an extra hundred dollars a week. Nothing spectacular, just $100 a week. We’ll even say that you take two weeks off a year.
That is an extra $5000 a year. Yes, I know you have to pay taxes and that kind of thing. Even with that, let’s say you get to keep half of it.
That would be an extra $2500.
$2500 – for most people that would cover nearly every emergency they could think of ( with the exception of large medical expenses perhaps). It would mean a car repair, or even a new car if they bought one that was used. It would cover co-pays for doctor visits. It would cover medication for a sick child. It would mean an extra month of expenses if the main job were lost so that they could still put food on the table while unemployment kicked in or a new job was found.
In short, it would mean breathing room.
I enjoy helping families do that. I have a new site that is under construction that helps families do that. All of the business plans are available for $5 or less.
That is not a typo.
Five. Dollars. Or. Less.
I’ve been told I should charge more. I know that the information is worth more, but I don’t want to charge more. I like this business model that I want to make sure that it’s affordable for everyone.
I’ll keep everyone updated with posts on this site about the other site.
In the meantime, there are many ways that you can make some extra money if you just look around. Selling things on craigslist, offering writing services or other freelancing, etc. – see a need, and then provide what is needed.
Until next time, take care.
